Martin Rasnick Memorial Research Scholarship

FCS’s annual Martin Rasnick Memorial Research Scholarship honors the legacy of Martin Rasnick by furthering the education of an undergraduate student working toward biological resources conversation.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate student in a recognized environmental/natural resources degree program in biology, urban planning, ecology, or a related field, interested in pursuing a career in environmental consulting
  • Enrolled as a full-time college junior or senior (12 credit hours per semester minimum)
  • 3.0 GPA minimum
    or:
  • Early career environmental conservation and/or research-focused professional

Applications will be evaluated based upon your knowledge of relevant issues and your commitment to becoming a leader in conservation, creating positive impact and value. To apply, please visit the provided link and submit:

  • Transcripts from your educational institution
  • An original paper (minimum 1,500 words) demonstrating a passion for your work/studies and its expected impact on natural resource conservation. Some things to consider:
    - What are the most pressing issues practitioners should focus on?
    - What are some issues you hope to address in your work?
    - How do you apply your values to your research and work?
  • One letter of recommendation from a relevant educator, employer, or sponsor, with contact details.

Scholarship funds will be awarded by August 31, 2025 and paid directly to the awardee. Recipient’s ID number and SSN will be required if selected. Within one year of award, recipient is required to provide a report demonstrating what the scholarship was used for.
