The Microsoft Cybersecurity Scholarship Program supports community college degree and industry certificate completion through financial assistance (up to $500) and subsidies for cybersecurity certification exam costs (up to $375). Financial assistance is intended to cover short-term basic needs, such as food, rent, health-related, transportation/car issues, and/or a laptop/device.
Who is eligible to apply?
• Residents of the United States AND
• Students currently enrolled in a cybersecurity-related program at a two-year institution in the United States, such as a community college or technical school AND
• Students who are able to demonstrate financial need by providing Pell Grant eligibility, financial aid award letters, or other evidence of need
All students with financial need are eligible to apply.
What kind of assistance is available?
• Financial assistance up to $500 OR
• Subsidies to cover the cost of cybersecurity certification licensing exams up to $375
• AND free LinkedIn Premium accounts to help close the networking gap
• AND access to local GitHub sponsored events and GitHub Education benefits, including the Student Developer Pack
What documents are required for the application?
• Your current transcripts (Unofficial transcripts are accepted) including your major/minor areas of study or technical certification pathway, full name, the current academic term, and name of your post-secondary institution.
• Proof of enrollment or document that includes your name, recent date of enrollment, and program of study (Please visit the website link for a full list of accepted programs).
• Link to your LinkedIn profile with a profile picture. Incomplete or invalid LinkedIn profiles will make you ineligible for funding.
