Redding Emblem Club #515
History of the Redding Emblem Club’s Scholarship Program
Each year, for almost 40 years, the Redding Emblem Club #515 has awarded scholarships to students from Redding, Anderson, Shasta Lake City and the surrounding communities.
Chartered in 1979 and during its first year, the Redding Emblem Club awarded its first scholarship to a student attending Shasta College and has been supporting the scholarship program ever since. In the early years, only one scholarship was awarded, but as fundraising efforts became more successful, the number increased and scholarships for graduating high school students were added.
The name Emblem signifies the Flag of the United States of America, which is preserved and cherished as a priceless possession. The Emblem Club’s members are:
-Dedicated to Charitable Acts in the Community, the States, and the Nation.
-Dedicated to unite all Emblem Clubs in closer bond while furthering good fellowship among the members.
-Dedicated to Promote and protect the interests of Clubs and to Bear True Allegiance to the Constitution and Flag of the United States of America.
The Emblem Club Motto is: TRUTH, JUSTICE and CHARITY, and is the guide in all club work.
