Scholarships Specifically for this Expedition
Students must acknowledge the requirement to enroll in the Shasta College courses noted above for the Summer 2016 term. Note: failure to enroll in these courses will result in the forfeiture of the scholarship.

  • What’s needed to apply: completion of the General Scholarship Application, submission of an essay expressing interest in the trip, transcripts, two letters of recommendation, completion of financial statement, completion of autobiography. Follow the instructions within the scholarship links below.
  • Scholarship Criteria: While you may apply for both scholarship opportunities, you can only receive one award, the highest, should the screening committee rank you as a finalist in both scholarships. Each award will require the recipient to write a short acceptance and thank you letter to the granting agencies. Students who have contributed monies in excess of the Expedition cost once the scholarship award is disbursed will be reimbursed for excess payments. Students that earn the scholarship award but are unable to attend the expedition, or do not enroll in the associated Shasta College courses will forfeit these monies to a ‘runner up’ or alternate expedition student. The Shasta College scholarship committee will rank a list of alternates from the application pool for each scholarship and declined monies will be offered to these alternates until all monies are awarded in full.
