Frances Anderson Memorial
Frances Anderson was an accomplished local violinist whose love for her craft led her to share her talents with her community. As one of the founding members of the Shasta Symphony Orchestra in the 1950s, she held the position of concertmaster for more than 30 years.
Mrs. Anderson gave private lessons to many of Shasta County’s young musicians, several of whom went on to become professional musicians. She performed both as a soloist and with musical groups, frequently donating her time and talent to local schools to introduce young students to music they might be unlikely to hear elsewhere.
This scholarship was endowed by her husband, Pete Anderson, in her memory.
